yes. if you watch closely you can see that a cat or dog will snuggle up and try to comfort their human when the human is depressed, or even just feeling ill.

Snails don't have moods such as people do. It's a common thing for people to project human like emotions onto their pets to make them more understandable and easier to associate with.
