Identical twins do not have the same DNA or fingerprints.
Fingerprint differences are due to cell growth which will be different in every human.
DNA in identical twins was thought to be an exact match, until recently. DNA in identical twins will be most similar at earliest age; the younger the twins, the more similar their DNA. Because DNA is constantly being replicated before its pattern disintegrates, its information changes over time. Because this process is random and unique to each individual, identical twins undergo a process in which their DNA becomes more differentiated because it changes in different ways.
they would have identical DNA fingerprints as they have identical genomes. in the case of forensincs, this would mean that other peices of evidence would also be required to determine whose DNA sample it was, but most legal systems require this anyway, so its fairly standard.
also, some people use this as evidence that the method is pointless (as it could be either twin) but you have to remember that you would have just removed every person in the world, except two, from being suspected of leaving the sample there. i would say that that means its still a fairly strong tool, eliminating billions of potential suspects instantly.
Yes. I am a twin and my twin bro has a different thumbprint... Don't ask how I know ;-)
No, they have different fingerprints. Their DNA is nearlyidentical, as they grow their environment changes their DNA further.
No. no one person has the same finger prints. twins or not.
no.
No.
Fingerprints are different in identical twins.
because everyone has different DNA and different fingerprints.
Non-identical twins are more like normal siblings. Identical twins have the exact same DNA, so will be very similar in appearance. Their environment will cause them to have very slight differences, such as different fingerprints and freckles.
DNA does not affect fingerprints. Identical twins- people with the exact same DNA- have different fingerprints. Fingerprints (and toe, lip, or any other -print your body has) form in the womb at random.
Homozygous means "the same egg." That refers to identical twins. Identical twins are always the same gender since they have the same chromosomes.
identical twins do. just not the same fingerprints.
Yes. Two people cannot have the same fingerprints. Not even identical twins have exactly matched fingerprints. <3
Identical twins don't have the same fingerprints. Fingerprints are unique to every person, even twins!
Conjoined, "Siamese", twins are by definition identical twins. Their fingerprints will be very similar but often not completely identical.
No, because identical twins which share identical genes have distinct fingerprints.
Depends. If they are twins (Identical) then yes. There has been reports of Identical Twins having same DNA and Finger prints. There has never been any records of regular siblings sharing the same fingerprints
Fingerprints aren't determined by genetics, but by growth conditions in the womb. (some say it's the amniotic sac, some say it's the inside of the uterus) Either way, it's different enough even for twins for their fingerprints to end up personal, and not shared.
There are differences in both DNA and fingerprints. The Claim: Identical Twins Have Identical DNA
Just because they are identical twins does not mean they are the same people. Fingerprints are as unique as a zebra's stripes, no other zebra has the same pattern.
They may look alike, but they will never have the same fingerprints, because fingerprints are created by differences of thickness in the dermal layer. It is independent of genetics, therefore, twins will never have identical fingerprints and any similarities between twins fingerprints would merely be coincidental.
No one has the same fingerprints. That's just the way of genetics. Identical twins look exactly the like, but their DNA isn't the same.
yes they are created in the womb but no one not even identical twins have the same finger prints
