Of course not.

Koalas are not bears, but small marsupials. They avoid contact with people wherever possible. Their diet does not provide them with enough energy to do more than sleep most of the day and search for food while awake.

Studies of primative kolalas indicate that the present day koala is much bigger, tougher and stronger than its ancestors.

The fictitious Australian Drop-bear is an animal said to be a large more vicious koala which drops on people walking through the forest clawing and biting.
