From my experience, absolutely. I have a Butterfly Koi that will come up to me when I show up from work and actually let me touch him. He doesn't exactly "like" it, but it's the point that he definitely recognizes me whereas he will do no such thing with anyone else. Further, all of my Koi will come up to me simply because they know I have their food. If I am with other people, they will hide. It's pretty obvious to me, with no scientific basis, that they definitely recognize who feeds them.
