No. Each of the two 'poles' is a definite place ... a point on the surface of the earth.

The earth is spinning, once every 24 hours (which is the reason we have day and night).

If you picture the earth as a spinning Basketball, you can imagine a giant pencil stuck through it

that it spins on. The places where the giant pencil goes into the ball and comes out of the ball are

the poles. If there was no spin, there wouldn't be any poles.

The location of the north pole is 90 degrees north latitude.

The location of the south pole is 90 degrees south latitude.
