I don't believe the millionaire matchmaker has had many success stories. Many people involved are there just for the fun and publicity. They are not as serious as other people.
A victorian match maker was a person who made matches (splint matches not dates) These were generally women who had the sticks and had to dip them in phosphor(the red tip). This was very dangerous as the phosphorus particles could rot teeth and jaws and make their vomit neoncoloured!
