Obviously this is a matter of opinion, so I am completely generalizing here, but I think most girls like a mix of the two. Both have qualities that every woman would combine to make the "perfect man."
Girls like the gentleman because he is polite, responsible, and dependable. The party guy is fun to be around, interesting, and unpredictable. Not to say that either one has only those qualities, but those are the positive traits most girls associate with the gentleman and party guy stereotypes.
Girls like to to have fun and have something unexpected in their lives every once in a while, which is where it's fun to meet someone exciting and spontaneous, but a real long-term relationship generally isn't what most girls get out of that kind of that kind of guy, even if that's what they want. If the guy is dependable and responsible when it's called for however, then most women would go for him.
Gentlemen are always wonderful to find because they're somewhat rare (at least that's what most girls think), so when you come across a guy who seems to fit that role, you can bet the girls will want him for a boyfriend. It's great to find a nice, respectable guy, but you still don't want someone who's going to bore you out of your skull, so if you keep a balance between the gentleman role and the party guy, the girls will definitely be more interested.
Again, this is totally a matter of opinion - it does depend on what girl you're trying to attract, but the majority of the female population would want a mix of the two.
