Monarchies affect people by limiting their power and voice in matters involving society. Monarchies are not as popular today as they were in the 19th Century.
some monarchies today have symbolic or powerless parliaments that the monarch can dissolve or change at will. Countries are considered to be absolute monarchies when the power of their rulers are not restricted under their constitutions.
The only Absolute Monarchies today are Swaziland, Brunei, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the surprising one, Vatican City. I'm not sure about Tonga, where the King still holds a lot of power.
There are different types of governments in Europe. Some are monarchies, constitutional monarchies, and republics.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia
Japan is today a constitutional monarchy, like Great Britain and Sweden. So they have no real power, but they are respected much more then in other monarchies.
As is the case today, there were many different types of government in existence in the 1930s. Examples include democracies, republics, democratic republics, constitutional monarchies, traditional monarchies, and dictatorships.
Today, various forms of government exist worldwide, including democracies, monarchies, authoritarian regimes, and totalitarian states. In democracies, power is often derived from the electorate, with representatives chosen through elections, as seen in countries like the United States and India. Monarchies, such as those in the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia, can be constitutional or absolute, with varying degrees of power held by the monarch. Authoritarian and totalitarian regimes, like those in North Korea and Belarus, concentrate power in a single leader or party, often suppressing political dissent and civil liberties.
There are currently three absolute monarchies in the world. They are Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Swaziland.
