Given this category, I have to assume you are talking about electric bass guitar. If that is the case, then I can tell you that more bassists still play four string basses than all five and six string bass players combined.
According to the Piano History Centre, all stringed instruments need thicker strings for the lower notes, this is not peculiar to guitar, it is necessary to increase the mass in order to produce a lower frequency.
Gibson stopped making these basses in 1983
Five strings usually tuned B-E-A-D-G, which provides extended lower range. Five string basses tuned to B-E-A-D-G (and sometimes A-D-G-C-F) are often used in contemporary rock and metal alongside seven string guitars, baritone guitars, and otherwise downtuned instruments. Another common tuning used on early 5 string basses is E-A-D-G-C, known as "tenor tuning". This is still a popular tuning for jazz and solo bass. Other tunings such as C-E-A-D-G are used though rare. The 5th string provides a greater lower or upper range than the 4-string bass, and gives access to more notes for any given hand position. * http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bass_guitar
Those singers would be baritones. Basses sing lower still.
Nope. A broken String is not useful anymore. It should need replacement.
Yes, third string
Yes, you can freeze string cheese and it will maintain its texture and taste when thawed.
Can you still feel the string or is there too much string in the vagina ? If it moves out of place the string will normally disappear or there will be too much hanging out of the uterus. See a Dr.
Yes, and he sometimes uses it in concert, when he plays Beatles songs. (He had several Hofner basses; one still had a Beatles set list taped to it, years after the band broke up.)
Although the 4003 is kind of an improved 4001, still many bassists prefer the 4001, finally discontinued in the 80's. I guess it's personal preferences cause the 4003 is a great quality instrument.
You cook a pork roast with the string on so it won't fall apart. hope this helps :D
