Most people believe the Koran way. The reason is that many Christians (presuming you are talking about the Holy Bible of the predominant faith of Christendom) perceive no real conflict between science and their belief.
The majority of the world accepts the findings of science as the most reasonble explanation for various natural phenomenon. Limited to just the United States, a case could be made that the majority prefers particular sectarian belief over science.
Christians generally believe that science is a valuable tool that can help us understand the world and improve our lives. They see science as a way to discover more about God's creation and to further appreciate His wisdom and design. Many Christians also believe that using science to help others is a way to fulfill their mandate to love and serve their neighbors.

There are many useful inventions of science. The answers vary. Some believe the number one invention that is the most useful in science is the electric furnace. It was made in 1889. The electric furnace converted aluminum to metal that was very useful. Another invention that people considered the most useful invention of science are antibiotics. Antibiotics help cure many illnesses.
There are no significant disadvantages of science. It is simply a methodology which scientists use to provide them with as accurate a picture as possible as to how the physical world works. There are people that might misrepresent science, claiming it is a philosophy or a belief system. But it makes no more sense to "believe" in science than it does to believe in cars. It is simply the most accurate method currently available to find out how the physical world works.
Those who are most into the 'Illuminati' are people who enjoy fiction, science fiction, and mythology; or the gullible and naive who believe fiction writers and bloggers are purveyors of 'information'.
I believe the answer is simple machines.
What group of people do anthropologists believe the most of alaska's native people are descended from?
Well, most people do believe in god, or a powerful being. But there are some people that do think we evolved from other animals such as Apes. For example, scientists..... they believed there had to be a logical explanation for how we were made. So they started to hypothesize and came up with a conclusion, that science explained it all. But not just scientists believed that science explained it, others did to. So they made it a religion for other people to believe. Hope this helps!
Most of the time, people are either more trusting to religion or science depending on their upbringing, values, and beliefs as a person. This causes a schism in the world of science, especially when studying evolution or how the world was made. There are certain places in in the studies of these topics where there is an overlap: Many religious people believe in an all-powerful being which created the world and everything on it. However, scientists use the Big Bang theory and the theories of evolution to explain the exact same concept. So, to be blunt, the answer is yes. There are certain places where science and religion do contradict. That is why most people believe in science: they want evidence to be able to back up their theories. People who trust religion have less evidence to prove their beliefs.
