Its inscribed on the side.
The Presidential Dollars minted in 2007 & 2008 have the words along the edge. 2009 and later have it on the obverse due to protests from conservative religious groups.
No, it has In God WE Trust. Earlier coins in the series have the phrase engraved around the edge, while later coins have it on the front.
Yes the phrase in god YOU trust will not be on the new $1 coins because it has never been on any US coin. The motto is IN GOD WE TRUST not YOU. Starting in 2009 the motto was moved to the obverse from the edge of the presidential coins.
The "In God We Trust" are along the rim's edge.
The new presidential gold dollar coins are not made of Gold so they are only worth one dollar. The mint has made so many errors on the edge of the coins that it does not increase the value of the coin more than one dollar.
Answer The phrase "In God We Trust" is on the outer diameter surface, also known as the "edge." But there are a few error coins which did not go through the edge-lettering presses. These are selling for several hundred dollars. More Due to protests from various religious groups, the motto was repositioned to the obverse (front side) of all Presidential $1 coins beginning in 2009.
Never. Please look at the coins in your pocket change. Note that the new Presidential dollars have the motto on the coins' edge, not on the front.
All circulation-strike "golden" dollar coins are actually made of brass and are only worth face value - one buck. If you have an uncirculated or proof one it might retail for 3 or 4 dollars.
No U.S. One Dollar coins dated 2000 have the "White House" on the back. Look at the coin again and post new question.
No US coin says "In God YOU Trust". As you can see from your pocket change, they say "In God WE Trust". Without knowing the coin's date it's not possible to say whether the apparently-missing motto is unusual. The motto didn't appear on circulating silver dollars until 1866, and of course 2007 and 2008 Presidential dollars carried the motto on the coins' edge where it can be difficult to see. Please post a new question with the coin's date and what type of dollar it is.
Please post new question and included the dates of the U.S. dollar coins.
As you can see from your pocket change, NO coins say "In God YOU Trust", the motto is "In God WE Trust". In 1934 the motto appeared on all denominations except nickels. It was added to the nickel in 1938, when the new Jefferson design was introduced. In fact, the motto didn't appear on any US coins for about 70 years. During the Civil War it was put on the 2¢ coin, and gradually was added to other denominations over the years.
Please look at the coin again, the date of 1888 is a Morgan dollar and can not have trust spelled with a "V" that's only on Peace dollars which were first struck in 1921. And the motto is IN GOD WE TRUST not YOU!!. Please post new question with accurate information.
