Paved roads made cars for example more fuel efficient since they use less power to go though something flat rather than something like dirt and rocks. Well, for centuries there were ONLY country dirt roads! And if you live in the country or rural areas, how would you get to town if you or someone did not drive on country dirt, gravel, or reddog covered roads! Jostling does not disturb or injure a fetus. However, it is not recommended to go on motorcycles or 4-wheel vehicles on rutted dirt roads! But otherwise, there is no more risk traveling on a county road than there is with scrubbing out the tub or doing the laundry. If you are near your due date, the extra jostling could speed things along. Your water could break. But if you're so concerned about that, move to the city.
