It depends, if they r both females, no unless its the babies mother and yes if they are both male or if one is male and the other is female. But sometimes parakeets only like the parakeets they think are pretty so its kind of anonymous.
They can dislike any bird kept with them. Me and my friend just got two new parakeets yesterday.(there kept at his house) and my parakeet is older and his is to young to know how old it is and they get along pretty well. today mine was licking the baby's toes
Yes old and young parakeets can get along. They can also be territorial so it is important to introduce them to each other gradually so they aren't threatened.
I am sad to say NO, they do not get along with children under the age of 14. One day when a friend of mine had a blue parakeet and her 11 year old was saying hello, the parakeet bit her and tries to peck her eye. Do not get a blue parakeet unless you have a child 14 or older!!!!!
Parakeets like other parakeets. In the wild many birds are in one flock. I'd say your best bet is to get another Parakeet if you want it to get a different bird a cockatiel would be okay. age and sex matters and you need to get them at the same time or they fight because the old bird thinks it's his/her turf. If you already have a parakeet you should get another parakeet.
most deffinetly parakeets are GREAT pets for girls and boys, young and old!:D
Well based on what I know Parakeets are pretty smart but depending on how old your Parakeet is can help you on its skill level in tricks. If you have a young Parakeet or a Parakeet with little to no trick knowledge start by giving it the basics or simple voice phrases.
You will know when your parakeets (male and female only) want to mate when they start to get along with each other. The male will start to respect the female and began feeding her. This is also a sign for breeding. Enjoy breeding your parakeets! Trust me, it's a LOT of fun!
9-12 months of age would be best, although 9-10 months is a little risky for a parakeet.
yes a baby budgie can live with an adult budgie but you should try it with an adult because it can get very aggressive. if he doesn't do anything to the other adult that means you can keep the baby but the should not be 2 old
Yes, they are very smart. Some can even be as smart as a two-year-old. With enough hard work, they can even learn to talk!
Well, I only recently turned 11 (in late September) and I suggest parakeets since they are common, the cheapest birds in stores, and easy to take care of. If you need any help with the parakeets, please contact me at suggestT@gmail.com
When your parakeet sheds it is a sign of either boredom or it has a skin rash. If boredom is the case then I would suggest buying it three or four more toys and switching them out with its old toys once a month.
