Jews pray only to God, not to any person or prophet. Muslims also pray only to God and definitely do not pray to their prophet!

What did Prophet Muhammad do to be an important person of Islam?

Muhammad (PBUH peace be upon him) is the 3rd prophet of the Abrahamic faiths including Christianity and Judaism. The Quran, Islamic holy book, was revealed to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the archangel Gabrael. Muslims view Muhammad (PBUH) simply as a prophet. They neither worship nor pray to him. They pray to God and God only. They do not believe God has any partners. They believe all humanity are God's children. God is referred to as Allah in Arab speaking countries because Allah is simply the Arabic word for "God." Even Christians and Jews living in Arab and Muslim countries call God Allah. Allah is not a separate or different God than that of Christians or Jews.
