A female produces only one functional egg cell because if a female produce four functional egg cell it means that the female will have four babies in her womb if the four lucky sperm cells reached the four functional egg cell. it says that theres only one lucky sperm cell for the egg cell so female produce only one functional egg cell.

Because an egg needs a large cytoplasm to feed the growing zygote. Hence during oogenesis an asymmetrical division occurs resulting in one mature ovum and three or two polar bodies. Each have a haploid number of chromosomes, and all can be fertilized by sperm. However only the relatively huge ovum will develop, after a fertilization event, into a zygote that will undergo rapid mitotic division (huge energy requirements feed by mitochondria/nutrients in the ovum's cytoplasm).

One because the cytoplasm remains with one oocyte. Generally the other cells become polar bodies, but not always.

In oogenesis a diploid reproductive cell divides meiotically to produce?

one haploid gamate

During what cell division process are egg cells made?

Duringoogenesis, the production of egg cells take place. In oogenesis, a diploid reproductive cell divides meiotically to produce one mature egg cell (also called ovum). During cytokinesis and cytokinesis two of oogenesis, the cytoplasm of the original cell is divided unequally between new cells. As a result only one mature egg cell is produced by meiosis, the other three eggs are called polar bodies and will eventually degenerate

Where does oogenesis occur in females?

Oogenesis is the name of the process by which female egg cells or oocytes develop to create an ovum, or egg cell. These cells go through a three step process; oogonium to a primary oocyte, secondary oocyte, and finally an ovum. The whole process occurs in the female ovaries.

How are oogenesis and spermatogenesis similar?

Oogenesis is the formation of the ovum, and spermatogenesis is the formation of the sperm. These two processes are similar as they are both formed by meiosis, (reduction division). Meiosis is the process of cell division where one mother cell will create four daughter cells with half the amount of genetic information. Or in other words, oogenesis and spermatogenesis are creating gametes.

What is the benefit of uneven production of gametes in oogensis?

Oogenesis (misspelled as oogenesis) is the creation of an egg cell. The benefit of uneven production of gametes in oogenesis is one haploid cell gets the majority of the nutrients.

What doesn't cell theory state?

cells are functional units

Do fingernail cells have a cellwall?

They contain functional cells so yes! that do have a cell wall

Which Cells do NOT produce cell walls?

animal cells do not produce a cell wall. plant cells do, and that's why they keep their shape so well.

What are cells and the cell theory?

cell is the structural and functional unit of all living things cell theory all cells form pre existing cell

What is the best description of a cell?

Cells are the basic structural and functional units of an organisms which are formed from preexisting cells.
