If a dog is just left outside and neglected, then the chances are probably going to be higher. I had a border collie that stayed outdoors, and was perfectly healthy. I got him before I started kindergarten and he died my senior year of high school. I now have two labs that live outdoors. The older of the two is now 11 years of age and still going strong. I give out well before he does when we are playing ball. If you are going to keep your dogs outdoors, you have to make sure to meet their needs. They still need to have fresh water every day. Even if they still have water from the day before, dump it out and refill it. They need to be taken to the vet on a regular schedule and have their vaccinations and worm treatments kept up to date. They need to bathed weekly and be on a regular flea prevention routine. Be sure they have plenty of room to run about and exercise. They need proper shelters that can be adjusted to meet hot, cold, and rainy weather. When the weather is very bad, we bring our dogs inside, but their shelters are set up to accommodate them even if we cannot for some reason. As long as your outdoor dogs needs are well met, there is no reason for them not to live every bit as long and happily as an indoor dog.
no one exactly knows but it may be because they use up their heartbeats are used faster they are some other theories too.

After they have their immunizations they can go outside. If you let them outdoors and they get parvo--which is spread from other dogs and animals, they will die from it.
Water outside evaporate faster.

Yes dogs can live outside. But bigger dogs are best for living outside. Smaller dogs like yorkies or poodles should not be left outside especially at night. They are too small to live outside and they don't have that kind of fur. Hope this Helped! :)
house dogs are dogs that live inside and not outside
