Firstly, there is no actual species of bird called a "parakeet". The term "parakeet" is a generalised term to cover numerous species of smaller, long-tailed parrots, such as budgies, cockatiels and lorikeets.
To answer the question: yes, these small parrot can hear very well. All birds have acute hearing - it is part of their necessary survival strategy.
Well, my green parrot has a terrific sence of hearing. He can hear my HTC EVO 4G 3D (That has a poor speaker) when I'm playing music from my bathroom upstairs. I messured the audio emanating from the Evo with a sound meter and it barely moves the needle, registering a mere 0.2 decibels. Every time I play his favorite tune, the bird responds with his own peculiar sound. Truly amazing@
Yes, have you ever heard a parakeet repeat something someone says well if they couldn't hear well they wouldn't respond right? Right.
Well, they copy the pitch of a voice they hear. They don't actually know how to use them or say them after a while, so I'd say no.
parakeets are smart and have certain habits such as; .talking .sining
Well i have one and they do this to keep their eyes moisturized
Well i have parakeets and ive never seen that. But there poop is the brown and sometimes green part. There pee is the white part in the middle.
Well why are some of us scared of spiders?
it maybe if you treat it well and love it enough they will be fun!
PARAKEETS!
The possessive form of the plural noun parakeets is parakeets'.Example: The parakeets' cages are cleaned daily.
budgies and parakeets are the same things so yes
Well that would be impossible, but it might be a good idea to feed them
Well, if parakeets are healthy and happy both male and female will chirp alot. That being said, male and female parakeets will often screech if they are not happy or if something like your music being played too loud or a cat is bothering them.
The parakeets would much rather be with other parakeets, THEY ARE FLOCK BIRDS!!! However, if you have more than one parakeet, they will not bond to you because they are bonding to the other parakeets. The reason that parakeets bond so well is that they are flock birds and so if you make yourself part of their flock, they will bond very well. But if you are wondering what would make them happy, they would much rather be with other parakeets. A good parakeet site is www.lisashea.com/petinfo/budgie.html
