It depends on the bird, but in general they like things they can preen (fluffy bird toys or toys with stringy stuff on them), jingle or rattle, or which have moving parts.

Some birds prefer things that jingle. Some prefer things they can chew on. Some like bright colors. Try a little bit of everything and see what your bird enjoys. :)
