Yes the parents of teens want them to drive. It shows that they are growing up and that they can be more responsible for their actions. It lifts the burden of the parents driving the teens from one activity to another.

Teens LOVE going places, so a teen being able to drive is good for the parents, because, as you probably know, parents hate taking their children places, so if a teen can drive, they can bring themselves there instead. This also includes to the grocery store if their parents need something from there. =) As for teens, being able to drive gives them the freedom that they want.

Being a teen myself, I know that in many cases, parents can go beyond the healthy point of guiding and encouraging their teens.. to controlling them and shoving repetitive lectures down their throats.
