In terms of species of animals, there are a lot but as Ireland is an island it is harder historically for many varieties of creatures to get to Ireland. So there are no large dangerous animals, no snakes and just one species of lizard. Around its waters various whales, dolphins, seals, turtles and other sea creatures are found.
