They could be a pet but you would have to live in the desert. Otherwise they couldn't survive.
WHAT??? A camel is specially adapted to survive in a desert...it does not require a desert to survive. As for "pet"...obviously you can't keep it in the house, but you can have one the way you have a horse or goat if you have a permit. There are camels in petting zoos and some are even used the way therapeutic horses are used, sometimes with even better results.

∙ 9y agoCamels are mostly domesticated animals. However, they are usually considered as livestock, like cattle are. There are probably a few people who treat their camels as if they were pets, though.
