God=LOVE. We only understand love because He has given us His love. Whether we choose to accept it is another story. Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do bad things happen to bad people? If God is an all knowing Supreme Being then he would not create something to hate it. It is a religious falsehood to claim that such a Supreme Being would hate and punish those who do not blindly obey the words of selfish men asserting to be his selected messengers.
It is not a Supreme Being but the people of those particular beliefs that are responsible for all the divisiveness, persecution and hate.
