I have heard of people starving a horse, releasing the horse near a herd of horses and getting the horse to gallop to where it knows food is, leading the herd of horses, which by now is running scared because the starved horse is running and they figure there must be something to be scared of becasue that is how the horses mind works. So when the starved horse runs into the pen to eat, the others mindlessly follow as insticnt tells them to and get captured. I havent heard of people actually training a horse to do that, but i believe it is totally 100% possible.

What do wild western horses get used for?

Wild horses can be used for many disciplines when trained to do so. I know many people who prefer to use mustangs for trail riding because they have very sturdy and hard hooves. But mustangs can be used for most all disciplines regular horses do. An example is mustangs would probably make a good endurance horse because of their hard hooves and stamina.

How horses are different from other horses?

Mustangs are a mix of breeds from far back in their generation. They are also not tamed (broken). Unlike mustangs regular horses have breeds that people know and that are not unknown like the mustang. In simple form mustangs are a unknown breed actually that's why that's what there names are because no one knows their breed. Mustangs are mix breed horses that no one knows the base breed from, they were thought to have been bred to become the "best horse" by early people in the west. They were breeding their horses to be sure footed, easy to mount and ride, strong hooves, and maintain all the quialities needed to be the best horse for the terain and uses they had.

How are mustang horses different from regular horses?

Mustangs, because they are wild, are much tougher than domestic horses. They are smart, fast, dont depend on humans, and know when to fight or flight. They can sometimes be hard to train because they can be stubborn but training is possiable and alot of people actually have mustangs that they ride.
