Imagine if the very environment you are born into caused you emotional or even physical pain. Imagine if going to the grocery store made you scream and bang your head on the floor. Does the touch of another human being make you scream in agony? These are just a few of the things that my son went through when he was growing up with autism. Yes, they suffer and so do their families.
