The doctrine of Limbo - the place babies go if they should die and not baptized - is no longer taught. We now teach that we live in the sure and certain hope that babies in this case go to heaven.

That does not mean they need not be baptized; on the contrary, they need to be free of original sin and grow in the practice of the faith with help of parents and godparents. Otherwise, they may not fully get to know God as adults.

Answer:

Nothing different than what happens to a child that is baptized. A unbaptized person will grow into the same range of human personality as a baptized one. Approaching their death they will face the same range of options as they have anticipated throughout their lives. Once dead, nobody knows.

(Pius X) we don't know what happens to a baby who has not been baptized. Limbo was one explanation which is a real possibility. Baptism washes away original sin and makes heaven possible Without some kind of baptism - baptism of water, baptism of desire, or baptism by blood, one is not capable of entering heaven making it *extremely* important to baptise any infant in danger of death. We do, indeed, trust in the mercy of God but it is our responsibility to put His Will in effect and we can not depend on wishful thinking or the fantasies of heterdox theologians. As for Limbo, as always, it is one way of thinking about what may happen, but it is not defined as a doctrine, not denied.

Why would you think something different would happen when you die just because you got ceremoniously soaked/wet at some point in your life? Just try to remember that when you are dying nothing is brought with you, not money or family, status or actions (including getting baptized).

the answer is: Nobody will ever know for sure and if someone does tell you they are lying, but I am guessing the same thing as people who where not baptized.

You're asking a theological question here where all Christian religions varies. You place in the after life is determined by 3 things. You heart, you deads, and the people you affect. And you are judged by the same, save it for God. While being baptized will bring you closer to Christ as you take on his name and his yolk (you have to continue is legacy of charity, love, and refinement) you may also be held more accountable, because, you do take on his name.

What I was taught, you will get a chance to know God, and his son, Jesus Christ, and learn all the truthes of eternity. As the saying goes, you reep what you sow.
