Do poodles make good family pets?

Not really, because A) children can be too rough and playfull and B) smaller dogs are generally too fragile. However, children of the right age and temperment can work out. ya toy poodle's are capable of playing with children as long as the dog be kept away when the kids get too rough like i do to toffee ( my toy poodle) when my little bro roughhouses with his frnds.

I have two poodles of my own and they are great! I've had them for almost ten years and they are playful, sweet, and very loving. they are very good with kids, even as young as three-year olds! Sometimes they can get hyper but they really are great pets!

Still me the person who asked the question: My brother wants to get his girlfriend (who really wants one) a teacup puppy poodle that will stay tiny when it grows up. I know that teacup dogs are very unhealthy and die quickly and i don't want that to happen so my question is Are toy poodles any healthier than teacup ones PLEASE ANSWER!!!!!

THIS IS SERIOUS I think that toy poodles are alot healthier than teacup poodles because usually the people who sell them under feed them to make them smaller. They are more likely to have problems because they are so unhealthy which will cost you lots of money to fix with the vet and toy poodles stay small aswell . I have a toy poodle ans she is sooo small and very friendly. Yes, toy poodles are wonderful pets, and with proper care can live long, healthy lives. They do NOT have the problems that "teacups" have, yet they seldom weigh over 10 pounds and retain their "puppy appeal" well into adulthood.

Miniature poodles are wonderful with children. You must remember that if you get a puppy it is natural for puppies to bite and nip a little because that's what they do with their brothers and sisters, this is how they play. You must also teach your children to be gentle and loving to your new dog or puppy, never hitting or hurting it. Teach children to participate in feeding, giving fresh water twice a day, etc.

Toy Poodles are wonderful family dogs. I have three toy poodles and two younger children, and the dogs have always been wonderful with the children. Just make sure if your children are younger, that they know the proper way to handle the dogs, because they are a small dog and could get injured if handled improperly.

Well, Pugs are GREAT dogs! Pugs are fantastic family dogs that children adore! They are playful, and calm and everybody just loves them!
