The truth is, mice do not like cheese. A study into which foods attract mice, they have found that a mouse's diet is primarily grains and fruit. The creatures turn their noses up at something as strong in smell and rich in taste as cheese. Norwegian brown cheese is so sugar-laden thus they like that type of cheese better.
There is no reason. Mice can eat cheese but they prefer grain or bread.
Before you give a mouse cheese, please look at the label to check for things that are bad for mice, for example some cheese is to salty, sugary, sweet or strong. so BEAR that in mind!!
from bear my mouse and me Bearmouse.
Well I think that rats really like food scraps and not cheese.
both i don't know because i have never seen a mouse eating penut butter but i have seen one eating cheese
Most mice will eat just about any type of cheese. They don't seem to be fussy eaters.
Cats are mammals. Female mammals produce milk. Cheese is made out of milk.
no not at all he can eat anything a human can but some food is bad like onions Oranges etc.
Being rodents, mice subsist on a plant-based diet. Peanut butter is plant-based; cheese is not.
Yes, rats and mice eat cheese
they like peanut butter not cheese cartoons just use cheese for comedy
peanut butter is especially good for attracting mice
None. Mice actually go for peanut butter better than cheese!
Mice will eat peanut butter over cheese Mice will eat just about anything. The problem with cheese , it is a dairy product and mice have a hard time digesting dairy. Peanut butter is much smellier and easier for them to find. They love peanut butter. It is more attractive to them because of the higher oil content also. Mice are always looking for the most calories for the least effort in order to survive. That is why peanut butter works better than cheese to attract them.
they eat it cause when they were born all the ate was cheese they also eat peanut butter they love it
I suspect that the reason is lost in time, but cheese is a very convenient consistency for the job. Far better baits are peanuts or peanut butter, or chocolate, or peanut butter mixed with cocoa powder - I have caught very many hundreds, perhaps thousands, using peanuts, peanut butter and mixtures of peanut butter. Peanut butter mixed with oatmeal is also one of the commonest baits used by field biologists trapping mice and voles for surveys etc. This person goes to SHSC. The person above is wrong, mice HATE peanut butter.
Mice don't have to eat cheese. But if you really really want to give it one, choose something where isn't much salt. Pepper is totally taboo! ;( I have a rat and sometimes I give him cottage cheese, it's the best choice! :)
Believe it or not, rodents prefer seeds FAR more than they enjoy cheese like on the cartoons. Although, the best BAIT is usually a small spoonful of peanut butter. And, you can increase the likelihood of a rat hitting the bait if you put a piece of breakfast cereal like corn flakes on the peanut butter.
sometimes they eat cheese but they are mostly preferred to eat peanut butter and bacon. Wild mice do eat allot of things but if these wild mice are babies they wont eat the cheese they will feed of their mums milk
