Most Rattlesnake species mate during Summer or Fall while some do during both times. When a female is in heat, Males track them down using scent and mate with them for many days. After mating Males & Females go their own way. Rattlesnakes are ovoviviparous, they give birth to live young. Rattlesnakes generally take several years to mature and females usually reproduce only once every 3 years.

The rattle snake has a potential to wrap around the male or female like a candy cane, then the mating begins.
