Can you use a regular home wireless network adaptor like a D-linkl or a Dynex wireless G usb adaptor for Xbox 360?

No you can't. This due to the fact you'll be unable to install the driveres necessary for the device to work properly. Only MS own Xbox 360 WLAN Adapter will work since those drivers are already on the box.
