The real scientific name for sabertoothed tigers of all ages was smilodon.

That depends on the contaminant. It can smell like anything that is in it as water has no real smell. It will either look like water or water with bits floating in it or dirty water. For example water used in nuclear power plants is radioactively contaminated but it looks and smells like water (if a bit metallic, but so does tap water). Bottom line if the water might be contaminated. DONT drink it.
