Scorpion young are born live. Once they emerge from the mother they travel to her back where she will carry them for the first couple of instar stages. As for how long it takes from conception to birth, it varies from what kind of scorpion are impregnated, humidity, temperature, and other variables. It can range from about 3-9 months. I once had a couple of Emperor Scorpions and one got pregnant. Took about 7 months or so, and she gave birth to around 28-32 young. (A large amount for Emperor Scorpions.) She died about a week later. 15 young survived.
