they go on the beach a find a safe place to sleep, simple
That is not right! What if a sea turtle is in the middle of the ocean? Do you think it could just find a beach? I think not! Whoever is asking, I honestly don't know that's what I'm trying to figure out.
Sea turtles sleep at the surface in the open ocean or on the bottom or under ledges in inshore waters. Typically sea turtles are solitary animals that spend most of the day feeding and resting. Sea turtles can sleep on the surface of the water. Green sea turtles sleep at night and hatch lings sleep at the surface with flippers. Turtles can rest or sleep underwater for several hours.
they rarely sleep, they sleep for about 2 1/2 too 3 1/2 hours but they rest, then they swim most of the time.

Why, just like you do! You eat, they eat. Sea turtles enjoy a smorgasbord of sea food, particularly jelly fish. You sleep, they sleep. Sleep is a prime factor of energy in life. Many organisms get energy in these ways.
Most turtles do not go anywhere in winter. They sleep much of the time, and stay where they are.
They hibernate in the silt at the bottom of the ocean.
