Generally speaking, all rabbits like to be in boxes, including 6-week old bunnies. In the wild, rabbits shelter in tunnels underground, which feels a lot like being in a box. Most rabbits won't enjoy the box unless it has two doorways: otherwise, it can feel trapped and scared.

A box is a good toy, but it's not a good full-time enclosure. Rabbits can eat their way out of boxes. Also, boxes are too small to be a rabbit's full-time home. Rabbits need a large cage or hutch, or exercise pen, or dog crate, etc. They also need at least 3 hours outside their enclosure every day so they can exercise, play, and socialise with you.

When do baby bunnies start to hear?

Bunnies typically open their eyes around 10 days. Some bunnies open their eyes even earlier if they feel that they really need to see where they are or what's going on. All my bunnies (so far) have opened their eyes on the afternoon of the 11th day. I sometimes "help" the process by taking off the crustiness that forms to help seal the bunnies eyes.

How do baby bunnies eat?

Baby bunnies, or kits, primarily rely on their mother's milk for nourishment during the first few weeks of life. They are born blind and hairless and spend most of their time in the nest, where the mother feeds them once or twice a day. As they grow, kits begin to nibble on solid food, such as hay and pellets, typically around three weeks old, gradually transitioning to a diet similar to that of adult rabbits.
