I would not reccommend swimming with the snapping turtles. You can safely swim in a pond or river that has snapping turtles living in it. Snapping turtles bite if you get too close, though, and their jaws are very strong. A snapping turtle could bite your finger off. So swim away, but don't get too close to the turtles!

Turtles just drink the water that they swim in.
I live in Panama City Beach, Florida the Redneck Rivera and snapping turtles live here also. I added a link to an article I wrote about snapping turtles & included a picture of a huge one I rescued from fishing line left in the water.

Turtles lay eggs, which hatch into baby turtles. Some swim, some don't. The ones that like to swim will want to get in the water- let them.
