Killer Whales, humpback whales, sperm Whales And I Think Blue Whales Too.
a predator, eats squid, and swims in a pod
Giant squid eat there own kind (giant squid!)
To save themselves. Colossal Squids are one of the prey species that Sperm Whales feed on. It is natural for any prey species to try to protect itself when it is attacked by a predator. So, when a sperm whale attacks a colossal squid it tries to attack the sperm whale to save its life.
Other then humans, large whales like humpbacks and blues have no natural predator. Smaller whales, like belugas, are sometimes preyed upon by sharks, sperm whales, and Orcas. The Orca/Killer whale also will occasionally feed on calves. Sperm whales, which also feed on giant squid, are occasionally killed and eaten by these enormous animals.
All whales use predation, just not in how we commonly think of it, such as with the great Blue Whales, which eat Krill or Sperm Whales, which hunt Giant and Colossal Squid. All whales eat some form of animal, thus making them predators.
Well. The sperm whale is. Although baleen whales can be larger, baleen whales don't feed on self functioning prey. A fully grown male sperm whale can grow up to 18 meters long (or possibly even 20 meters long) and 57,000 kg.
