The two that start with "0S" are Sweet sixteens made in 1960. The 9R is a Standardweight 16 ga made in 1959.
If your browning is a sweet sixteen there should be a letter or 2 numbers and a letter prefix before the serial number.please include this to get a answer.
This serial number alone does not identify a sweet 16. After WWII, Sweet 16's have a letter in the code such as an "X" or "S". from 1958 and on they had a number and the letter "S". Is there a Letter above the number or a number and letter above? Is there a letter preceding the number? It could be one of several combinations which is too lengthy to list all possibilities. Perhaps it is not a Sweet 16 and just a Standard Weight 16 guage Browning. Not all 16ga Auto 5's are Sweet Sixteens. If your gun does not say Sweet Sixteen on the left side, and there is no "X" preceding the number, then you have a Standard weight 16ga that was made in 1928.
A sweet sixteen is your sixteenth birthday party, so the cake would have 16 candles.
This is not correct for a sweet 16. Your serial number is incomplete. The gun should have a letter and or letter/number associated with the serial number to determine age. The letter should precede the 99230 or be above it
That serial number receiver was made in 1952. Condition depends on whether the barrel matches, whether it is truly a Sweet Sixteen rather than a standard 16ga, vent rib or plain, and most importantly originality and condition. Mint condition, correct and original Sweet Sixteens bring $1000-$1500.
