Taoists do sacrifice animals. However most taoists disagree with it, as their is the more philosophical side which beleives the Tao is in everything and we should treat nature and mankind as equals, and their is the more religious side where their are gods and a heaven. However, speaking as a Taoist and vegetarian, i detest sacrifice and think its cruel and wrong.
Taoists generally leave small offerings of fruit or vegetable in front of statues of the gods or the Immortals.
