When you are signed in to the web use the options button on the controller triangle emblem to open side panel of options go to the browsing history and again use to options button to open the delete all selection.

Don't delete it, just don't use it to browse the web. You need Microsoft's crappy browser to get updates for your computer OS. I've gone to the Microsoft Update with Firefox or Google Chrome, but you'll get an error message saying your browser isn't supported when you try to get updates. So, to make a long story longer keep IE for updates only.
Though it can vary, click on the button in Internet Options that says "Delete browsing History." Yeah you can also go on 'tools' in the toolbar (up top) and click on 'clear recent history'.
