probably not from the first match --- Some, but not all, get stronger in rematches if you have done events such as defeating Gym Leaders and the Elite Four after you have battled them
whos attack it its his enemy. but in the world he haven't any enemy. hes good pokemon.
Meaning, you kill the weaker enemy to scare the stronger enemy.
You just have to be stronger than the enemy.

Battling the Enemy Within is number 452 of the Pokemon Anime and the 178th episode of the Advanced Generation series.
When you use it, the enemy Pokemon you are battling will be unable to use moves that the Pokemon your using has. e.g. your squirtle with bubblebeam uses disable, the enemy tentacruel will be unable to use bubblebeam
the move sing does. that's really the only move the puts enemy Pokemon to sleep. oh wait yawn also does.
Aiding the Enemy!
Most likely an enemy used a pokemon switching move. That or your game is glitching. Does it switch it with another pokemon? Does the enemy use a move like whirlwind or gust? If you answer these questions on my message board I can help more.
Jigglypuff, the pink fluffy pokemon has the ability, like its evolutions, to make the enemy fall asleep using its soft voice. Jigglypuff has the power to also make it's trainer fall asleep if the trainer isn't careful (obviously this doesn't happen in the games). It is actually recommended to use Jigglypuff on gym's you have trouble with, simply send the enemy to sleep then switch out Jigglypuff for a stronger pokemon and take them out.
it reveals the enemy's held item
