It depends on the vaccine but, generally, they don't hurt much to get but can leave the muscle very sore afterwards. I remember fearfully bending over for one in my youth. I was at first relieved to experience what felt like just a pinprick in my bottom but I couldn't sit down next day.

Just don't think about the needle. Go to your happy place if you hate needles that much. Anyway it only takes something like five or ten seconds. It happens very quickly. Don't think about it

It is only a pinch for half a second, and it didn't hurt much. Think of something peaceful and stay still. Before you know it, the shot is over.

A flu shot does not normally cause much pain but you might feel a small jab as the needle goes in. The last time I had a vaccination it was over before I even felt it!
