There are some differences in the leaves of each variety.

Cannabis indica plants typically have broad leaves and are often very dark in colour. The leaves are shorter than those of those of cannabis sativa but longer than ruderalis. Typically there are 3-5 blades per leaf.

Cannabis sativa plants typically have long, thin, pointy leaves with 6-12 blades per leaf. Usually, the leaves are light green in colour.

Cannabis ruderalis plants typically have small broad leaves with 4-6 blades per leaf. The leaves are dark green in colour.

Do different strains of Cannabis really effect you in different ways and if so how?

There are three different species of the Cannabis Sativa plant. Cannabis Sativa Sativa - Simply put: it gives you an uplifting high. Cannabis Sativa Indica - Again, simplified, it makes you stoned (i.e that "couchlock" effect). Cannabis Sativa Ruderalis - Contains so little THC that it is never used in marijuana strains. Now, you can argue that the way you grow the plants (if you use real soil, and if so the quality of it, fertilizers, and the general proper conditions for growing etc) affects to a certain degree how the effect will be, but generally what growers do is to make strains based on a Sativa/Indica mix. A rule of thumb is that the more Cannabis Sativa Sativa that is in your strain, the more of that uplifting high you will get, and the same with Cannabis Sativa Indica only with the "couchlock" effect.

Does the word cannabis have to be capitalized?

Cannabis shouldn't be capitalized unless it's at the beginning of a sentence because it's not a proper noun. Cannabis does need to be capitalized when using its proper taxonomic names, Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica or Cannabis ruderalis.

What is the resinous form of marijuana?

There are 3 species of cannabis. Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis. Smokable marijuana today is the result of years of cross breeding ideal traits between generations of indica and sativa strains. Sativa produces a more of a head high, and Indica producing the body high. Most pot going around is a healthy mixture of the two, but it really all depend on if you want to be all sleepy and stoney or all clear headed and creative.

What are the scientific names for hashish?

Hash is just simply THC (tetrahydro-cannabinol) in higher concentrations than it is in weed. You can make hash from weed by grinding the weed and then rolling the kief (the orangey/browny colored parts) into little balls. There are three primary classifications of cannabis. Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis. Of the three primary classifications Hashish is considered, scientifically, Cannabis Indica. Marijuana more widely applies to a wider variety of both Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica, or hybrids thereof. Cannabis Ruderalis is the scientific name given to a variety of cannabis plants with extremely low THC production capability, but are more fibrous than other cannabis, making them ideal for industrial purposes.
