AnswerThe word 'epistle' is another, more formal, name for a letter. Some of the epistles have been attributed to the disciples James, Peter, John and Jude. However, some scholars say that these disciples were not the real authors of those epistles.

No.

But I may yet be proven wrong by a Bible Scholar - but hey! we are all learning.

And I think I have read the epistles few times and what struck me most was the lack of Jesus story or quotes from Jesus.

You will hear people telling you what is the point of quotes in the epistles if they have been written in the gospels.

But I made an astounding discovery in my quest to seek the truth.

'Apostle' Paul wrote his epistles long before the gospels were complied - don't allow the way the New Testament was arranged fool you.

At the time 'Apostle' Paul wrote his epistles he was ignorant of the story and miracles of Jesus because they had not been collected from those who witnessed all the events.

It was after this discovery I appreciate why Paul's gospel was different from that of Jesus. But see one example below - there are many.

Jesus:

  • By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? [Matthew 7:16]. In other words you reap what you sow.

'Apostle' Paul:

  • For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? [Romans 3:7]. In other words, you plant a lime and you expect to reap sweet orange.
