Why would the oil temperature go up when you press the gas pedal on a 1967 Mustang?

I believe this model comes equiped with an oil pressure gauge, not an oil temp. gauge. The oil pressure gauge should rise when you push on the gas. The temp. gauge should be the other gauge marked H----C. This is just the engine temp. which probably will go up when you hit the gas. The oil pressure gauge is marked H-----L (High-----Low). If it goes up too much after warming up you might want to check the oil level. For an overheating problem I'd check the thermostat, radiator, and fan. You might look into getting bigger fan blades on it. That's what I did anyway.

Is there a oil safety switch on 1999 f350?

there is a low pressure swithc that closes at 5 psi and moves the oil pressure gauge on the insterment cluster. but when you get low on oil volume on the diesel the engine will quit running because it can nolonger fire the injectors. gas engine is has the same switch and cluster set up

Why oxygen gauge reads use no oil?

If you look closely at a regulator gauge you will see the instructions USE NO OIL. There is a reason for this. If pure oxygen or high pressure gas comes in contact with oil it can ignite and cause a fire.

Is the oil pressure gauge on a 1991 Mercedes 190E supposed to be pegged at 3 instead of in the middle of the gauge at 1.5?

i have a 1993 190E - my oil pressure gauge always sits on 3. ==New Answer Haedline == The oil pressure gauge actually moves but is related to several factors Engine Temprature Oil viscosity Engine speed. When you start you car the engine temperature is low the gauge goes to 3, after a long drive/travel and if your temp gets to 80C then with an engine speed of 750-800 RPM you oil pressure gauge will read about 1.5. if you rev. the engine the pressure gauge goes up to 3

What does the check gauge lights mean on a ford explorer sports trac?

Either your oil pressure gauge is reading low , your engine temperature gauge is reading high , or your fuel gauge is reading low so your almost out of gas

Why does the oil pressure in a 73 nova decrease when you accelerate and increase when you let off the gas you have a gauge and a light both work not sure gauge is accurate?

It should do just the opposite. I would check that gauge.

WHY IS MY 2004 Nissan Armada OIL PRESSURE GAUGE MOVING TO HIGH WHEN ITS RUNNING AND GOES DOWN GOING TOWARDS THE MIDDLE WHEN I'M ON A STOP AND STEPPING ON THE BREAK?

The change in engine rpm effects the volume/pressure the oil pump produces. This is normal.

Why does a Chevy 350 oil pressure gauge bounce now and then?

A mechanical oil gauge may bounce if you are low on oil. An electric oil gauge may bounce if the sending unit or the gauge itself is faulty and of course you are low on oil.
