Yes, Syria holds elections; however, their legitimacy and fairness are widely questioned. The most recent presidential election took place in May 2021, where President Bashar al-Assad was declared the winner amid ongoing civil conflict and allegations of electoral manipulation. Many opposition groups and international observers have criticized these elections as lacking transparency and not reflecting the will of the Syrian people. Overall, the political situation in Syria remains complex and contentious.

He is evil if you listen to American MainStream Media who support's an Islamist Government in Syria , No he is not an evil man at all he is making Syria more democratic since the begining of the war there were local elections and pairlament elections and in 2014 there are gone be presidential elections and we might even not see Bashar again if he doesnt win and also what would you do if a islamist rebellion with child soldiers in it tried fighting against you? you would fight back wouldnt you ?
No, don't get into the illusion by Assad supporters that Syria has free democratic elections. These people don't know how a real democracy works, and if Assad falls from power and a new president that is outside of the Assad family is installed, these people will scream and go on a mob rage. All of Syria's presidential elections are "popular referendums". Basically, the rubber-stamp Syrian Parliament nominates him for the ballot paper. There is no such thing as an "opposition candidate" or anything similar to that. Once they nominate him for the ballot paper, the Syrian people will then vote either yes or no on the Parliament's nomination. This is not a typical democratic way on conducting elections, because first of all, these elections can get easily manipulated, as there is no such thing as "the opposition", and it is basically a way to bar everyone except the Assad family who wanted to become President of Syria. These are the same elections that Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, North Korea, Saddam's Iraq, etc...that they conduct.
The President of Syria is a dictator, using torture and violence to insert his power on his people; with most elections being rigged. However this is what we are informed of from the media. He will at some point must likely be removed from power were he will come to the UK most likely, due to his wifes, the first lady, british conections were he or both of them will be tried from war crimes and human rights issues. At which point he will then be taken nack to Syria for punoshment.
In Texas there are four elections, which are Primary elections, General elections, Special elections and others.
