Not that I have ever seen. The best thing to do is replace the switch controlling the can lights with a motions sensor switch like this: http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-PR150-1LW-Infrared-Occupancy-Residential/dp/B0007N72PG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417896541&sr=8-1&keywords=motion+sensor+light+switches
technology that makes use of motion detectors
Motion detectors are: infrared detectors, ultrasonic, microwave, radiowave and... dogs.
Motion detectors have had a massive impact on today's society. Motion detectors have made life easier for those who are very busy for example.
There are many levels of long range motion detectors, personal use and commercial use. Some motion detectors can detect movement up to 8-10 miles away. Some good brands for long range motion detectors are Honeywell and KNX.
Yes
The first motion detector was invented by Russian Leon Theremin in the year 1920, but the first motion detectors used as a security device were developed in early 1950's by Samuel Bagno. The basis of these first detectors was the Doppler effect and ultrasonic waves application.

Some cctv security cameras also have motion detectors. If you are looking for a security camera with this feature, you should check the description before you buy it.
To wire lights with a motion sensor and maintain a switch override, connect the motion sensor in series with the light fixture. Then, wire a switch in parallel to the motion sensor. This setup allows the switch to bypass the motion sensor, enabling you to turn the lights on manually even when the sensor is off. Make sure to follow local electrical codes and safety guidelines when performing the installation.

Incandescent light are the only type of light that has a filament. The filament is the the little piece of wire that glows where the electricity passes through it. All other lights are gas filled. Most motion detectors need to pass a small amount of electricity through the filament to work. The motion detector uses the filament as a neutral wire. The time lag to get a florescent bulb to light up would create too much delay and negate the use of the motion detector. The filament will light up very quickly.
