I have rescued a couple of them so I guess the answer must be yes. Whether they originated here or were brought in from elsewhere, possibly by people moving from either the mainland or other Ionion islands I dont know. There are also tortoises in Corfu. Again, origin unknown but seemed quite at home there. Hope this helps.
