Track rear Wheels are likely to use a narrower axle spacing than a multi-speed rear.
If it's a steel frame, it can be respaced - Cold set - to a narrower spacing, and the dropouts realigned.
There's a limit on how many times you can do this, so Think carefully if you'd ever want to turn it back into multi-speed again.

Thin wheels alone isn't enough to identify the bike type. Can be a road bike, bike, a track bike, a TT bike. Even fixies and single-speeds can have thin wheels.
