Truck tires may require special kinds depending on what you need to use the truck for. Heavy duty trucks may require all-weather tires or larger tires for mud.

You need to take them to a tire shop, they must be done on a special machine, no way to do them yourself.
Possibly, but it could be tire wear, as well. A new tire typically has 28/32nds tread depth.. this decreases as the tires wear down.
There are several different things that you need to think about. What type of driving are you going to do? What kind of vehicle do you have? All weather tires are a good standard tire. Performance tires are good for sports cars. All terrain tires are better for trucks.
