No it can't. As a stylist for 13+ years I can account to that. All of that "grease" is not even something someone who waves or is a hair stylist/barber would say. If you use a good balance of moisture and "grease" you won't clog your pores. Wash regularly and use a wave cap AND brush DURING the washing AND conditioner process and you can easily maintain HEALTHY hair and lasting waves
