∙ 11y agoNo, some may travel in groups, but mostly humpbacks prefer to be alone, or solitary, depending on activity. Breeding grounds brings whales into fighting groups, mother/calf pairs, male/female pairs, and female/several male groupings. Feeding grounds shows whales alone, pairs, three or more, up to 10 feeding cooperatively.
